One of the distinct reward Marvel TV has over the film side of the MCU is its fantastic assembling of villain . While the actor behind each film resister have all been typic , the stories have rarely given the case much to do or room to grow ( especially since so many are quickly killed off ) . For timber supervillains , the Netflix quoin of the Marvel Universe seems to have the patent . Cottonmouth onLuke Cageand Kilgrave onJessica Jonescontinued the trend , andwhoever Sigourney Weaver is playingonThe Defenderswill probably be just as captivating and intriguing . It all started , however , with Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson " The Kingpin " Fisk inDaredevil .
time of year 1 ofDaredevilgave us something uncommon by actually reserve the myth of the villain to acquire over the class of multiple episodes . When the valet who would be Kingpin was finally revealed , he was n’t fully mould . Just like our masked hero , Fisk had some growing to do . It ’s fairly of a disappointment to hear D’Onofrio wo n’t be around , particularly asWeaver will in all likelihood have her hands fullwithall the heroesthat areso far confirmedto appear on the show . Still , with the show in the thick of filming , we likely would have some intimation that Fisk would be involved . After all , his appearance in Season 2 ofDaredevilwas fall upon during take when some photos designate D’Onofrio on the set .
Another MCU place the player seems destined to come along in is the newSpider - Manfranchise , as Fisk has long been one of the bulwark - crawler ’s primary foes . When someone inquire whether D’Onofrio would be in the upcomingSpider - Man : Homecoming , he had a similarly simple answer .

While it ’s a shame to see the appearances disregard so flippantly , it ’s not surprising that Marvel would n’t require to take the moving-picture show with both D’Onofrio ’s Fisk andMichael Keaton ’s Vulture . Still , many fans would bed Spidey and Kingpin to front off in one of the film’splanned sequels . So could Fisk show up in a future MCU installment . D’Onofrio does n’t think it ’s likely to find .

Whether unexpectedly or on purpose , D’Onofrio seems to strike on the reason why Marvel films get so many complaint about their villains : there ’s just not enough metre or room to do them justice .
Though it ’s a bit of a disappointment to know we wo n’t be visualize D’Onofrio comes to blows with Spidey or theAvengerson the bountiful screen in the approximate future , the possibility surely still exists . After all , William Hurt had 8 years between his two MCU appearances as Thunderbolt Ross . perhaps all it will take is the correct part in the plot of ground to pull D’Onofrio into another project . Until then , we ’ll just have to hope he pops up in Season 3 ofDaredevil .
