Screen Rant : We’lldive right intoDangerous , what was it like filming up in Canada , where it ’s almost always cold ?

Tyrese Gibson : It was freeze frigid . Believe me , all of the skunk that was come out of my mouth in the movie in spades was n’t limited effect . Crazy affair was my last night of filming , the part of Canada that we shot the flick in was in the middle of nowhere and probably about four - and - a - half , maybe five - hour driveway from where we were to get to Vancouver , so after I envelop at like 3 A.M. in the morn , I motor myself through a blizzard and get all the way to Vancouver .

The number one wood was like , " I ’m from here . I ’m used to the Charles Percy Snow , I ’m used to drive in these conditions . Why do you want to drive yourself ? " And I sound out , " Because if I go , then you wo n’t be the one to kill me , I rather just do it to myself . I ’m not operate to be sit in the rider side , ' What are you doing ? ! ' " [ Laughs ] So yeah , it was very real to take this picture out there in Canada , but I had a enceinte clip and the director is great . It was my first time ever working with Mel Gibson , I was very prestigious to have worked with him , and that was my 2d movie with Kevin Durand , so it was nerveless human being .

Would you say the cast was the biggest draw for you to the project or was there something else that spoke to you ?

Tyrese Gibson : Yeah , dead . I ’ve always wanted to do something with Mel Gibson , I ’m a vast , über sports fan , so I just call up when the press outlet come out , I was looking at all of these images of everybody that was in the film from Famke to Kevin Durand andScott Eastwoodand Mel Gibson and there was my fateful brass correctly there in the little box .

I was like , " Oh my god , this is pretty crazy " . Moments like this , I wish I could call John Singleton and tell him , " Look , man , thing are still happening here . " Because he ’s the one who produce me in Hollywood . It ’s been cool being part of this motion picture , I just watch it , I end up watch it doubly a couple of weeks ago and it do together , it ’s pretty sick .

So normally when we see you on screen , it ’s typically in a car or in a brief shoot - out , but in this we see you get a little further in on the in - person action , what was it like getting in those sequences ?

Tyrese Gibson : It was cool , man . I like military action , but I love move as well . The drama , the tension , and intensity between me and Scott Eastwood , especially in that prison scene - I do n’t want to give it away . I love drama , people have no idea how thought-provoking it is to uphold humor forThe Fast and The Furious . I always get to have my vim up , does n’t matter what timezone we ’re filming in , I always got to be the humor or the sprightliness of the party . That ’s very challenging , [ needing ] coffee , caffeine tablet , just trying to keep my energy up .

So it was cool to roll out of bed with my deep vocalization and be on a picture set and not have to do anything humorous . I really go for people enjoy the film , by all odds want you guys to give us a stroke and take the journey with us .

Dangerous

You cite working with David   Hackl for the first clock time on this one . Were you allotted the chance to dally around with your character , especially in that jail scene , or did a peck of that get along from the scripting and David ’s way ?

Tyrese Gibson : The script had the nut and bolt of what we were doing , but a lot of what you ultimately do in the movie could never be write . So once I got to the set and saw everything about the elbow room the stage set was built , the mode it was lit , everything just kind of was like " click , click , click , click " [ in my chief ] and then it was just time to get busy . Scott and I just kept proceed over it , trying to obtain those nuances and those moments and it was pretty nerveless .

What would you say was the big challenge for you coming into this one ?

Tyrese Gibson : Filming in Canada while it was freezing and October . Also missing Thanksgiving , because their Thanksgiving is in a different calendar month than ours , so it was like " Damn . " When I booked the flick and I got there , I was like , " I did n’t really even imagine about Thanksgiving come up . “But everybody in America was lionize Thanksgiving and we were on dictated working , so that was honestly the magnanimous challenge .

Otherwise , it was I think , at this level , I ’m kind of on autopilot . So once you got dialogue , once you love the scenes and the gist of what you ’re doing , you just kind of hope that you get along with your co - virtuoso and you get in there and catch a vibe and saltation , so we make it done .
