Alexi Hawley : Of course . Tru [ Valentino ] is a neat actor and he was a huge part of our show for several season , and so we ’d love to have him back in some capacitance . It just ultimately find like , creatively , for where the show was going , that we needed to swivel a bit . But he ’s still very much live in our universe .
Chenford’s Relationship Status Is Up To Lucy In The Rookie Season 7

What can you share about the new rookies ? What are they going to bring to the show in season 7 ?
Alexi Hawley : It ’s always fun to make greenhorn for our show because they have to lock on two fronts . They have to be heavy characters , but they also really are there to serve up the actors and the character who are their training officers . So like last season with Celina and Nolan , in create Celina as a fictional character — she is Nolan ’s first cub . So what do we need in the 30,000 feet on that greenhorn to serve Nolan ? And the same thing came in this season .
It ’s like the fun idea of have a Texas transplant who is technically a rookie in the LAPD but has done two long time as a cop in Sugar Land , Texas . What does that look like ? We ’ve never done that before . So having a sure-footed puncher derive in with a exercise sergeant and not be intimidated by Tim and how they both deal with that was a fun idea . And then Seth could n’t be younger , candidly .
The Rookie follows John Nolan, a small-town man who embarks on a new career as an LAPD officer after a life-changing event. As the force’s oldest rookie, Nolan faces skepticism from superiors who view his pursuit as a midlife crisis.
Patrick who plays him is just such a just thespian . But just to work in the boy talent scout who feels like they just walk out of high school , let alone college , and plain , it ’s a chip of a coddler on the training ship’s officer front with Lucy , but her swelled awe is becoming Tim . And so to take in a role who ’s frustrating where he fall down was just a fun idea .
It was Tim ’s conclusion to fall apart up with Lucy last season , but in the finis , he tell her that he ruin everything . Is he going into season 7 mentation that Lucy no longer want to be with him ? Where is his header at ?
Alexi Hawley : I call up his nous is in recognise that he ruined everything , need to fix it , both on a romantic level , but also on a personal storey . Obviously , he cares very much about her , but knowing that he still has work to do and understanding that , ultimately , it ’s her decision , really . He is the one in the wrong , and therefore , he does n’t get to just come in and say , " Hey , can we get back together ? " because there ’s still work to do .
But we did roll into the time of year really require to sort of embrace incontrovertibleness with Tim and Lucy in the sense that they have been through , hopefully , the spoilt of the fallout from the breakup and , therefore , what is putting a relationship back together ? put the amatory side of it aside , what does it look like to put them back together ?
