Throughout all the different films and television show that make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe , there has been one thread connecting them all together : Stan Lee cameos . The risible icon has routinely appeared in Marvel properties ( not just MCU ) for a long time , and those appearances have spawned some interesting theory . Some consider him to be The Watcher in the MCU , but his multiple roles are really just mean as Easter eggs for viewers , as far as anyone knows .
Even when he is not physically appearing in the films or even inAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , his fount has still made a cameo in everything fromDaredevilto the WWW miniseriesSlingshot . Now , as motion-picture photography continues onThe Defenders , his latest cameo has been let out thanks to a set picture .
OneReddituser has brand a photo from the hardening ofThe Defenders , boast Krysten Ritter ’s Jessica Jones in in force spirits . The context of the scene being filmed is unknown , but conspicuously boast behind Jessica is none other than Stan Lee ’s aspect on NYPD poster . While the integral phrase can not be seen , it looks as though the poster is tagged with a quotation mark from Lee ’s police officeholder grapheme saying,“Not all submarine sandwich where mantle ! "

Some viewer may be disappointed to have Stan ’s cameo revealed already , but it is not surprising that this is the form it is hail in . Stan Lee ’s face can be seen on various fliers and plaques around the police station in the previous Netflix shows , so having him keep that identity for the aim of this corner of the universe works . Plus , this is more than likely the same prototype used in the previous cameo , get it an well-situated Easter egg to include .
With Lee yet to make an actual appearance in any of the Netflix show to this point , some may have hoped that a project as big asTheDefenderswould have been able to make it work . So far that is not the case , as there continue to be no Son on Lee making a physical appearance .
As the Netflix universe grows , it will be interesting to see if it becomes more originative with Lee ’s cameos in the future . They very well could keep reuse the same photo in different locations with unlike quotes , but perhaps one day he will really get to interact with these quality . After all , the movie side filmed four of his cameo in a day , so with a little bit of preparation , a larger appearance could possibly be work out .
