Scott Glenn is incertain of his future with Marvel and Netflix play along the events of the first season ofThe Defenders . Glenn has no doubt assembled an telling film resume over his five X in the entertainment line , which included turns in such classic asApocalypse Now , The Right Stuff , andSilence of the Lambs , and more of late , a recurring purpose in two of the hitJason Bournefilms . But since 2015 , the revered thespian has settled quite nicely into work on tv set , including the seriesThe Leftovers , and playing Stick , the warriorlike arts wise man for Matt Murdock / Daredevil ( Charlie Cox ) andElektra(Elodie Yung ) , inDaredevilandThe Defenders .
Those who have orgy - watchedThe withstander , however , know that Stick take on his unseasonable demise at the hands of Elektra / the Black Sky in sequence six of the eight - part series , seemingly end his run as the grapheme . Of course , in the world of Marvel Comics , the Marvel Cinematic Universe and even the Marvel Netflix bear witness ( note , Elektra ’s Renaissance as the Black SkyinThe Defenders ) , expiry is n’t forever for some type .
As such , THRasked whether Stick has a luck of hail back for a succeeding serial . Glenn , who said he memorize about Stick ’s death from Marvel TV pass Jeph Loeb about 2 or 3 episode before the character suffer his lot , say he"was fine"with Stick ’s expiry , and his main business organization was how the climactic final fight between Stick and his former educatee was accomplish in a fashion that made sense in the linguistic context of the serial publication . He says :
" I commend Jeph saying , ' We ’re in the Marvel Universe . If Elektra kills you , that does n’t necessarily stand for you ’re dead . ' And I sound out , ' Okay . ' But for me , the show is over , unless I get a telephone call , and then it will or wo n’t [ continue ] look on the deal and all of that stuff . "
Although Stick appears in a flashback in episode 7 following the character ’s expiry , Glenn say Loeb does n’t look at that as the only storytelling twist that can be used for the role player can return .
" When Jeph pronounce that to me , he was n’t talking about flashbacks . He was talk about literally whatever is locomote on in that world where citizenry do in fact come back from death . "
It has to come as welcome tidings to fans of Glenn that the room access seems to be crack capable for Stick to return somehow , and it would be shameful if he did n’t given the player ’s remark about the conversation that he ’s had with Loeb . If Stick is numb for well though , Glenn appear ready to move on and is already set to star inCastle Rock , a sprawl repulsion mystery series ground on the tale of Stephen King .
With any luck though , Stick will somehow determine his way back to the third season ofDaredevilor the second time of year ofThe guardian , since the grounded presence ( and sometimes frank humor ) that he brought to the serial will be very hard to replace .
