The Defenders
The Avengersand theDefendershave come together on several social occasion , and most of the times these meetings have been peaceful , but in one instance the two squad found themselves caught up in an intergalactic lovers ’ quarrel . In 1982’sAvengers Annual#11 by author J.M. DeMatteis and creative person Al Milgrom , the evilNebulon’swife occur to Earth search for him , and in the summons take out the two teams into the fight of their lives .
The Avengers , Marvel ’s premiere superhero team , debuted in 1963 , and the Defenders in 1971.The Defenders were different from the Avengers — they were more broken - key and featured role watch as “ foreigner , ” such as Hulk and the Silver Surfer . Meanwhile , Nebulon ’s wifeSupernaliahas come up to Earth look for him ; he has brought disgrace to her and his house and she is here to convert him to commit ritual suicide to save nerve . Finding him with the Avengers , she chop-chop realise how muscular they are and will need champions of her own ; she manipulates theDefenders into fighting the Avengersso she can retrieve Nebulon . The two team fight and eventually Captain America and Beast are able to shake off the mind control . The two team then turn their efforts on Nebulon and his wife . Supernaliarealizes what she was doing would dishonor her too ; she commits suicide and when Nebulon tries to save her , he too is kill . With his honor restored , Nebulonpasses away .
The two teams were equally twin , with neither ever gain the lawful upper paw and despite the mind control both teams were under , they still fought uprightly . The Avengers and the Defenderswere two of Marvel ’s most popular team at the sentence and seeing them throw down was a goody for fans . Since they were being mind - controlled and not cognisant of what they were doing , they did not pull in any punch , making the fight even more intense .
It fits utterly in production line with theDefenders ’ quirky nature that they would fight theAvengersbecause of a lovers ' quarrel . It is always a treat to seetwo powerful team fight . Fans have intercourse to speculate on who would win in a supposed matchup , and chronicle like this bring home the bacon them with that opportunity .
