WhenThe Defendersarrives in a few weeks , it will see the various heroes all in a difficult spot . Danny will be get picky focus , however , as his arc fromIron Fistwillfinally be completed . During the SDCC control board forThe Defenders , CBRheard from Finn Jones about how the show will approach the first encounter between Danny and Luke :
“ Because it ’s so iconic , I do n’t think you want to put too much pressure onto it or strain to oversell it , you screw ? So I imagine we played it very truthfully . Lucky , [ executive producer ] Marco [ Ramirez ] wrote some unbelievable scenes between us and really got to the nitty gritty of why these two finally become best friends . We just kind of played the truth of it and endeavor to keep it as tangible as potential . ”
Given that both characters are more nuanced than when they were introduced based on blaxsploitation and martial fine art trends of the ' 70s , it realise mother wit that their contrasting style would make their friendship a knotty sell . Luckily , it sound as if the show will approach things in an fair way . By doing so , the writers will add something real and not plainly build a bond based on the demand of the source material . Of course , this will lead to an atypical first meeting .
“ I think that ’s a little bit surprising , because everyone knows us as being bffs and really the first time we see each other there ’s difference of opinion , and it ground and roots the role into reality a little turn well , which I think is really interesting . "
We ’ve seen in both the first teaser forThe Defendersand the recentSDCC trailerthat Danny and Luke get off to a rough beginning . In fact , it looks like all of the characters will find Danny to be a little number silly . Luckily , this kid brother aspect of the hero will allow him plenty of room for growth , something that was sorely lacking inIron Fistseason 1 . It will also help tee thing up for the recentlyconfirmed second season ofIron Fist , allowing a more realized variation of the character to make out to life .
