After the fifthStormlight Archivebook , Wind and Truth , there ’s one present moment I aboveboard ca n’t expect six age for . farting and Truth’sendingdid a fantastic job at not only concluding its own arc but also pose the understructure for the next five volume . In those next fiveStormlightbooks , there are some pivotal , exciting present moment that I ’m thrilled to experience , like Kaladin ’s riposte as a Herald and Shallan and Adolin ’s reunification .
That say , the ones I really ca n’t hold off for are the petty moments , where a character I despise finally get down what ’s come to them . That includes obvious choices like Moash and Taravangian , as well as the recent improver of Queen Fen . Brandon Sanderson ’s coming booksinclude several releases that I ’m looking forrader to , but none more than the rest ofThe Stormlight Archive .
TheCosmere universeis fascinating as a grander piece , and I ’ll be thrilled to read newMistbornandElantrisbooks , but the characters on Roshar are the ones I vibrate with most profoundly , and the novel have the tone most consistent with my style . That ’s why , like many others , I wasdevastated to find out it will be an almost seven - year time lag for the next volume . I ’ll be itch for any Roshar updates I can get in other Cosmere book for the meter being .
I Can’t Wait To See Queen Fen Regret Her Decision In The Stormlight Archive
Queen Fen’s Betrayal Stung Worse Than I Thought
Queen Fen did n’t stand out to me too much inOathbringerandRhythm of Wardespite being an occasional root of frustration for Dalinar ’s concretion . To condemn her too much for that seemed unfair to me , though . I know Dalinar far well than she would from read his POV chapters , and I interpret that he has her best pastime in nous , but give the context of how she ’d see the Alethi and the Blackthorn specifically , I can see where she was come from .
The Stormlight Archive ’s fifth book answered several major question , but it also left one important Cosmere character ’s motivation unclear .
Her last - second decision to toss sides and join with Odium , however , is much hard to justify . Aside from the egregious betrayal , her reason out barely made sense and will likely lead to her own doom . Now , this is an avowedly spiteful event to be this aroused about , butI ca n’t waitress for Jasnah ’s defeat at Thaylenah to be vindicated and for Fen to regret her decisiveness . After all that ’s find , especially with Jasnah being a submarine sandwich at the Battle of Thaylen City , to betray the fusion in such a manner was shocking .
side with Odium , a reverent shape of hatred , is never going to ante up off , and I ’ll be exhilarate to see that moment of regret .
Not to bring up , the excess troops ship to Thaylenah inWind and Truthprevented the Coalition from defending the Shattered Plains , and Fen did n’t admit them to will once they realized a conflict was n’t going to fall out there . Siding with Odium , a worshipful embodiment of hate , is never endure to pay off , and I ’ll be thrilled to see that instant of regret .
What Will Happen To Thaylenah After Wind And Truth?
Thaylenah Is Plunged In Literal And Metaphorical Darkness
Now that the Night of Sorrows has fall upon Roshar , Thaylenah is included in the tilt of nations that are go to pass the next several age blanket in rain and shadow . Odium made promises to Fen , but now he ’s off the major planet and hiding while Roshar exists in the absence of Stormlight . The next decade is going to be harsh on her and her mass , and Fen even admitted that joining Odium ’s side would mean the absence of freedoms she would have had in the Coalition . Her the great unwashed will now suffer because of her conclusion .
The Stormlight Archive book 5 is filled with reference to other Cosmere novel , including one that lecturer are wait on a subsequence for .
The only tangible reason to excuse her choice was that Odium was right about Thaylenah being cut off from trade route due to the lack of ports in the Coalition . It ’s unclear how much this will actually matter , but Thaylen City will belike profit in some part due to swap routes with Tukar and Emul ( Kharbranth would have been included , too , if not for the city ’s benignant king ) . I could see Sanderson having them last in relative heartsease for a while before matter get significantly uncollectible in electric arc 2 .
Fen’s Betrayal Is Crucial To My Favorite Character’s Arc
Jasnah Kholin Will Grow From The Experience
Jasnah Kholin has become my preferred character inThe Stormlight Archive , even though I do n’t think her spark inWind and Truthwas handled all that well . I ’m all for her being accused of being hypocritical and violent because she is . However , I do n’t think her intelligence was make up well in her debate with Odiumafter having an outstanding mo inRhythm of Warwhen look off with Ruthar .
Brandon Sanderson ’s The Stormlight Archive is filled with attractively tragic story , include one in Wind and trueness that no one saw coming .
I ’m holding out hope for arc 2 , peculiarly sinceshe ’s set to be the primary POV graphic symbol of the finalStormlight Archivebook . Beyond me just being lowly , Queen Fen ’s regret is also going to be monumental for Jasnah ’s arc . Jasnah is devastated by what happened inWind and accuracy , not simply because she lost but because of the nature of how it transpired .

Jasnah wo n’t block being outsmarted any clip shortly , and it will likely continue in her mind , move her to improve herself until she ’s redeemed by some human activity in arc 2 . If she ’s meant to be one ofTheStormlight Archive’smain heroes , she ’ll have to overcome this failure . To have Fen rue the choice vindicate Jasnah ’s shortcomings and would be a major step in her path .
