Readers are eagerly expect Sarah J. Maas ' nextCourt of Thorns and Rosesnovel , and during the clip between releases , many have speculated where the series could go . One theory suggestsTamlin will have a redemption spark in the next book — which seems likely given Maas ' various mentions of his innocent state in the latterACOTARnovels . Maas has spent time drawing tending to Tamlin ’s character bow throughout the series — first as the lovemaking interest group , then the baddie , and now the outcast . And while his character has changed , Maas on the face of it still has a role for him to wager .
However , I do n’t believe Tamlin ’s looming redemption arc needs to at all be centered around his human relationship with Feyre — as Maas has made it middling clear that she and Rhys have run on easily without any desire for balancing . Plus , Tamlin had already decided to let Feyre go atthe end ofACOWARwith his decisiveness to save Rhys , so I do n’t consider it ’s necessary for the series to dredge up their past for the sake of a reunion . alternatively , I think thenextCourt of Thorns and Rosesnovelshould use Tamlin ’s salvation bow to repair his and Lucien ’s friendly relationship .
Tamlin & Lucien’s Friendship Is One Of The Saddest Casualties Of The ACOTAR Books
Their Friendship Is Genuine In The Early Novels
Some may argue Lucien ’s friendly relationship was born out of a common sense of loyalty to Tamlin after he was given a office of refuge in the Spring Court — and that plays a major part — but I think their relationship was founded on their mutually traumatic upbringings . The two had support a flock at the hands of their Fatherhood , and knowing Lucien ’s experience with his brothers , it ’s unlikely he would willingly befriend Tamlin if he imagine him to be anything like them . rather , Maas makes readers aware thatLucien can see Tamlin ’s many flaw , but chooses to remain friends with him irrespective .
Tamlin ’s redemption arc in A Court of Thorns and Roses is inevitable at this point , but there ’s one image the story absolutely has to obviate to do it .
However , Tamlin ’s battle with PTSD after Feyre ’s good - end and his controlling behavior in bothACOMAFandACOWARis what ultimately strained their kinship . It ’s clear that throughout the narrative , Lucien attempt to reason out with Tamlin and advocate for Feyre on multiple occasions , but in the end , he is n’t capable to get through to him . Lucien ’s loss from the Spring Court ended their friendship , and the two never discourse again , but I think it ’s potential they can renovate the wrong in afutureCourt of Thorns and Rosesnovelshould Lucien retrieve it hard to give up on his former friend .

I Hope Tamlin & Lucien Repair Their Relationship In The Next Court Of Thorns & Roses Book
Found Family And Acceptance Is A Major Theme Throughout The Series
When Lucien finally allow for the Spring Court and Tamlin inA Court of Wings and Ruin , it ’s not inevitably out of his want to desert his supporter , but more so act on the need to find his match , Elain . Yes , Lucien was appalled by many of Tamlin ’s action throughout the tale , which help influence his determination to leave — butit ’s exonerated from his and Feyre ’s recent conversation that Elain was always his main motivator . And Lucien may have even decided to stay behind in an attack to further reason with Tamlin and save him from ego - destruction had Elain not been in the picture .
While I do recollect Tamlin deserves to sit with the import of his action at law for a fourth dimension , Maas clearly is n’t done exploring his fiber .
In the latter novel , Maas ' depictions of Tamlin show just how much he has chip in up — as his royal court is in tatters , and he has no loyal friends remaining . While I do mean Tamlin deserves to sit with the consequences of his actions for a time , Maas clearly is n’t done exploring his character . This make me cause to believe Lucien will attempt to reconstruct their friendshipif their course span again in the sixthCourt of Thorns and Rosesnovel . Even more so , knowing that found - family and unconditional friendship are common radical throughout the series — likeNesta inCourt of Silver Flames .

Lucien & Elain’s Story Is The Perfect Place For Tamlin’s Much-Needed Redemption Arc
Elain’s Book Could Bring Both Lucien & Tamlin Back Into The Story
Elain ’s futureCourt of Thorns and Rosesbookwill assumedly center around Lucien to some extent , and finally bring his fictitious character back into the story in a major way — make it the unadulterated place to reintroduce his and Tamlin ’s friendship . Lucien is one of manyACOTARcharacters who have been pushed to the sidelines , but despite a lacking character arc , the series has continually allude upon his grandness to the narration . I ’m unsure if Elain and Lucien will actually end up together , buta larger focus on Elain will still give Lucien ’s account the background and attention it merit .
It is reveal inA Court of Wings and Ruinthat Lucien ’s true father is Helion , High Lord of the Day Court .
I ’m hope a greater focus on Lucien will also enable him to become mellow Lord of either the Autumn or Day Court in a futureA Court of Thorns and Rosesnovel , andgive Lucien a change in status that could wedge his and Tamlin ’s characters to interact . Currently , Lucien expend his time principally in the human lands with Jurian and Queen Vassa , and only visits Prythian for the chance to see Elain . However , giving Lucien a larger political role — such as High Lord — would render Maas a way to realistically re-introduce their characters and potentially salvage their friendship .
