In the former days of Marvel Comics story , the thought that anyone other than Donald Blake aka Thor could lift and exert Mjolnir was unheard of . Sure , the enchantment clear tell that anyone who is deemed worthy will be able to go up the hammer and harness the king of Thor – mean anyone had the potential drop to use it – no one ever really did . The journey thus far has been heavy for Marvel ’s submarine sandwich as they just continued to face progressively thought-provoking foe who maintain god - tier power – thankfully , the dependable guys had more than a few scrapper like that on their squad as well , and three of them are Thor ’s granddaughters from the future , the Goddesses of Thunder . The Goddesses of Thunder consist of Frigg , Atli , and Ellisiv , and all three of them have been mainly acting outside the center Avengers team throughout this event while still fighting hordes of their common enemies ( in this upshot , mostly doomsday ) . After coming across a battlefield where a numeral of Thors were murdered by Dooms ( and then kill those doomsday themselves ) , the Goddesses of Thunder find three Mjolnirs wielded by alternative versions of their fallen grandfather – and each of them lift their unexampled Mjolnir with ease , proving themselves worthy of not just using the hammer , but of being called the Goddesses of Thunder .
This moment was incredibly significant as it was truly a signaling of Thor ’s proverbial torch being passed down to the younger generation , and even to extremity of his own family , no less . While the Goddesses of Thunder have usedother weapon Thor has used in the yesteryear , include Jarnbjorn , Stormbreaker , and Hrigandr , Mjolnir is something totally different . One does n’t need to be worthy to utilise the other three weapons the way they do to airlift Mjolnir . Not only that , but Mjolnir is and has always been almost like an extension of Thor himself , as it holds Thor ’s effect , his power , to bring upon anyone who Mjolnir deem worthy to harness it .
